On behalf of a large Australian manufacturer impacted by ongoing supply chain issues, Affairs of State were contracted to assess the viability of establishing a dedicated air freight operation between Asia and Victoria.
The assignment involved the assessment on the potential acquisition of a liquidated air freight airline operation, its regulatory approvals and its assets. This project included assessment of all route operational and commercial dynamics as well as the creation of a standalone structure to provide service to the manufacturer and to market customers.
The assignment included the assessment of a B757F aircraft and a range of alternate freighter options.
The assignment also included government and industry engagement to generate demand for outbound flights to ensure the operation was effectively costed on a per rotation basis.
Our Director, Hans van Pelt leveraging his extensive aviation experience developed a plan to identify and retain a team of highly experienced aviation specialists, tasked with a new purchaser to revive and update the Air Operating Certificate and re-establish a financially viable, medium to long haul air freight operation.
